Blacksburg wins State Championship

The Blacksburg Boys Soccer Team defeated Potomac Falls High School 3-2 on Sunday afternoon in the Virginia State Group AA Championship Match.  Alistair Moore scored the game winning goal with 3:38 seconds left in the 4th overtime to clinch the title for Blacksburg. Christian Burton started the scoring with a goal in the first half. With time running out and down 2-1, Serxho Hasa banged home a shot that tied the score with only seconds remaining. Blacksburg finished 20-2-2 on the season. This was the 10th state title for Blacksburg, which is a VHSL record. 

Congrats to Alistair Moore on being the first Blacksburg soccer player to be named All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Congrats to Jackson Rankin on being one of 35 players in the country to be named NSCAA Scholar All-American.
