The music in any movie plays an intergral part in order to give atmosphere to the film.
The score that John Carpenter has produced for this movie of course is no exception.
I of course say this because I have the soundtrack myself and I must admit it is one of my favourite John Carpenter collaborations in a long time.

Now for a little bit of fun: Imagine that there was another soundtrack that came out for the same movie with all of the existing tracks. Here is my personal interpretation on what additional songs should go on the "new" soundtrack.
"Rock is Dead"~ Marilyn Manson
"TNT"~ AC/DC
"Dragula"~ Rob Zombie
"Bullet with Butterfly Wings"~ The Smashing Pumpkins
"Beautiful People"~ Marilyn Manson
"Temptation Waits"~ Garbage
