Baring it All (Finale) Epilogue (One year later) I sat at my dressing table and put the finishing touches on my makeup. The last year seemed to have passed so quickly and I was still trying to believe that I was sitting here getting ready for my wedding the Rev. Travis Leonard. I had awoken in the hospital after Billy stabbed me to him standing over my bed. The stab wound to my chest had torn several ligaments but thankfully it was not fatal. When I turned towards Travis voice it had thrown off his aim and saved my life. The first thing Travis said to me when I opened my eyes was I love you; please say you'll be my wife. I said yes but we both agreed to wait. The string of murders was over but there was still a lot more of life to deal with. Billy had been arrested and charged with 3 counts of murder and 1 count of attempted murder. He was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences with no chance for parole. We had heard that Heather moved back to Florida to be with her family. When Marcus learned that he was the motive behind Billy's actions he decided not to re-open Chocolate Paradise. He said the guilt was too overwhelming. He relocated to Oakland, California were he had taken his love of women and adult entertainment online creating his own website called ChoclitParadise.com. The other employees had ended up at different clubs around the city. Our paths rarely crossed but I knew they all were doing well. Danesha had taken several months to grieve and then she slowly began to put her life back together. She's dancing in local theatre and Travis put her in charge of the dance ministry at the church. It's a joy to see her face light up as she teaches the little girls new steps. Travis had resigned as senior minister of Greater St Giles after admitting his charade. Due to his admission and Granny's influence he was allowed to remain as an associate pastor. He was pleased to be a part of the church and working hard in the community. I did as Travis had asked and began attending counseling for my sexual addiction. As a result I moved back to my apartment and we agreed that we would both remain celibate until our wedding night. Me, Marissa Rogers has been celibate. Who would have thunk it. I had been corresponding with Momma by mail weekly. I didn't realize until I read her first letter how dearly I had missed her. I stood and looked at myself in the full-length mirror. Travis and I had decided on a small intimate ceremony in his backyard. For the reason I'd chosen a tea- length soft pink dress. Danesha had agreed to be my maid of honor and Duane was going to be Travis' best man. I heard a light tapping at my door. "Come in." I said. Granny walked into my bedroom smiling. "You look beautiful Baby. I'm so proud of you." She said as tears poured out of her eyes. "Granny you promised, no tears today. You are gonna make me smear my makeup." I said. "Well, it's gonna get worse" she said Granny went to the doorway and motioned for someone to come in. I gasped when she walked into the room. "Momma!" I ran to her and hugged her tightly.
