Baring it All (part 42)
Help Wanted
Billy closed up the pawnshop and locked the back gate. He had asked Claude how many more days he'd need to stay and Claude said he wasn't sure but he was thankful for his friend helping him out. Billy just nodded his head and left.
He stopped at the newsstand and bought the local hip-hop paper. He flipped through most of the paper then as usual he checked the want ads. Billy wasn't looking for a job but he still found them interesting. This was the paper where the people in this neighborhood advertised for things that you might not see in the city's newspaper.
There was an ad for phone sex operators. It said make money from the comfort of your home. A male and female escort needed was the next ad. Billy kept reading until one ad caught his eye.
"Exotic Dancer needed. Chocolate Paradise the city's premier black adult entertainment club is looking for a dancer. If you are sexy, and want to use what you have to get what you deserve Chocolate Paradise is the place for you. Please apply to owner Marcus Thomas 555-4789."
Billy found the ad shocking. He had thought for sure that with 2 of his dancers stabbed to death Marcus would just close the club for good. He was
sure Marcus would have thought it was the respectful thing to do. Billy knew the club had been closed since Lisa was murdered but the ad stated Marcus was planning a Grand Re-Opening.
Billy crumpled the paper up in disgust.
He went back to the pawnshop through the front door. He didn't want to talk to Claude right now and knew what he needed was upfront. He retrieved it and left.
He called Heather and told her he'd be home a little late.
