Baring it All (Part 22) Missing Travis searched his bedroom. He got down on his knees and looked under the bed. Then he went through the dresser drawers. He checked the pockets of all of his suit jackets. He checked the bathroom and the closets. He walked out into the living room. The church ladies were still in his kitchen. Quietly he lifted the pillows on the sofa and love seat. He scanned the room with his eyes. It was nowhere in sight. "Are you looking for something Pastor?" Sister Morris asked coming in from the kitchen. "Uhm, yes." Travis said absentmindedly "Do you need some help?" she asked. Before he could answer the doorbell rang. Sister Morris went to answer it. Travis walked into his kitchen and smiled at the other ladies. Without speaking he continued searching. He opened and shut cabinets and drawers. He knew it was stupid but he even looked in the refrigerator. "Pastor, if you're hungry I'll fix you something." Sister Odell offered. "No, thank you." He said and walked into the laundry room. He dumped out the basket of dirty clothes and searched through them checking all of the pockets. He was beginning to wonder if he'd ever find it. He sat down on the floor and put his head in his hands to think. "Pastor? Are you ok?" He looked up and saw Sister Odell standing over him. He nodded his head yes. "You have company. Two young ladies who say they worked with Sister Lisa. I'm guessing there from that trashy club." She said with a smirk. "If you want, I'll tell them to leave." She added. Travis slowly got up off the floor. "No, I'll be right out. I just have to make a phone call first." He said. He went into the kitchen and dialed his cell phone. He had been searching for it all day and could not remember when he used it last. He dialed the number hoping it would ring in the house. He listened intently for a few moments. When his voicemail picked up after 4 rings he hung up. He walked out into the living room. He was surprised but relieved that they had come. Except for the parishioners and Marissa he'd had no visitors. His parents were dead, and he had no other family locally. "Hello, Sheila" he said smiling. "Hey Rev." she said. He walked over to Danesha. Without speaking he pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly. "I've missed you Baby D," he whispered. Danesha hugged him back tightly fighting back the tears. Across town in Lisa's empty apartment, Travis' cell phone stopped vibrating as it tumbled off the table onto the floor.
