The driver of the Richard Childress Racing owned, GM Goodwrench Service Plus Chevy Monte Carlo and 7 TIME Winston Cup Champion.
Dale made his rookie of the year run in 1979 where he ended up as the Rookie of the Year. Dale backed up that award the next season winning his First of Seven Championships, the only driver ever to win Rookie of the Year and a Championship back to back.
Dale was on a mission to grab that illusive 8th Championship until he was taken from us in a crash at the end of the 2001 Daytona 500.
THE MACHINE
The most Intimidating car on the track. When a driver looks up in his mirror and sees this machine coming towards him, he never knows what to expect. Time and time again this car has seen it's share of action on and off the track. Whether it be, the old air off the spoiler trick, a rub from behind or the famous pass in the grass this car has seen it all. Needless to say, no matter the incident the man and sometimes even the machine is still ready to go! The combination of this machine and Dale Earnhardt was definitely a force to be reckoned with. Dale has left us, but not forgotten. I read a poem one day that ended with the following line, it really makes it all come together, "As long as you remember me I will never be Forgotten".
