North Carolina has "un"-changed their Endowment Game rules...
they can drop any non-district loss for playoff seeding purposes.
But they don't publicize which games are EGs, so the VHSL put in
Rule PM 68-4-6 (3) that basically says 'if you play 11 games, we don't
count the first one in our ratings if it's played before our 1st week'.
Records with a ! means the "early" game was a win.

Now, the VHSL has added a 'Note', which says "Any state in which a
VHSL member school plays that allows Endowment Games, those schools may
exchange a win in accordance with that state's rules which will be
recognized in the VHSL football ratings." I have a MAJOR, MAJOR
problem with this. The way it reads, to me, is that the GAME must be
played IN that state, but this is one of those rules that the VHSL
basica lly applies as they THINK it should be, instead of how it was
actually written/voted on.

In 2013, a 'situation' occured that penalized a VHSL school.
Bartlett-Yancey, which played both Chatham & Dan River, won their EG and
dropped their loss to Chatham. Now, according to how the rule is written,
their record for our ratings SHOULD be 2 wins. But the VHSL decided to KEEP
the Chatham game on their schedule and drop their Week 0 opponent, which was
a win, so their record goes to 1 win per the VHSL, but 2 wins per the NCHSAA.

Also, out-of-state Nov. playoff games also don't count in the ratings

Teams that play 9 VHSL schools outside of those listed above :
Nelson Co. (Hargrave), Goochland (Fork Union)

Endowment games?
Anyone keep up with them? I'd like to know the EGs for the schools that play VA teams...
