Lr - rider points from games Lost

# Chatham, Auburn & Craig Co. each play ONE "non-public" school,
so their totals are multiplied by 1.11 to put them on an even keel.

And, no, I DIDN'T forget anything. The averages ONLY means something
AFTER the season is over, so you won't find them here. Knowing the point
TOTALS along the way is MUCH more important. (If you don't believe me,
hang around until early Nov. and see.)

                       TIEBREAKERS :

1. beat all other teams tied with
2. better record against all common opponents
3. (NEW for 2013!!!) any opponent had a 9 game schedule
4. highest winning percentage against rating scale-recognized opponents
(more commonly called best overall record)
5. highest average rating of all opponents
(highest win % vs. VHSL opponents (added in 2012 & removed in 2013)
6. highest average rating of VHSL opponents (added in 2012)
7. (NEW for 2013!!!) draw by lots by the Regional chair

[Helper's note on TB #3 - no team or opponent of a team in 1A West or 2A West
had a 9 game schedule this year. BUT, some may try and say this rule was
also meant to include those who played 9 PUBLIC schools]

2013 VHSL Football Ratings Point scale
            (for games vs. public schools)

opponent Class : 6A 5A 4A 3A 2A 1A
                  -- -- -- -- -- --
if you win : 26 24 22 20 18 16
if you lose : 14 12 10 8 6 4

Additional points for beating a team in a lower Class...
District opponent - 2 points per Class difference
non-Dist. opponent - 1 point per Class difference

Rider points...
2 for each game won by a team you beat
1 for each game won by a team you lost to

(this can also be stated as 1 per win by any opponent,
1 additional per win by a team you beat)

At the end of the season, divide the total number of points earned
by the number of games 'played' (actually, the number of games you
earned points in... games vs. private/church/military/home schools
don't earn points, so they aren't counted towards the total)
