You know, this spyware problem is getting worse than ever. It seems, Everytime an update or way to block the problems, The makers of the problems just keep coming up with new ways to be pains in the ass.
But don't worry, there are ways of stopping it happening to you (almost) and to be honest, the easiest way is simply to:-
STOP USING INTERNET EXPLORER
WHY?
Easy, internet explorer has so many loop holes and security problems by design that any user of this browser are one click away from a full blown on slaught. what ever you do, do not mis-type google.com one finger slip and you can say g'day to about 20 - 30 different infections.
Microsoft have sat on their hands for about 4 years since ie6 was released, releaseing a fix here and there, but not activly finding and repairing problems in there browser.
What can I Do Then?
FIREFOX
Years ago, NETSCAPE gave away the coding to there web browser, Mozilla Took that code, cleaned it up, chopped off the useless crap and released FIRE FOX.
Firefox is about 5MB to download, runs very quick, renders webpages as good as IE and stops browser exploits from taking over your machine. This is safety step number one.
VIRUS PROTECTION
Every Computer needs to run some form of Virus protection, this is because, aside from all the lies MS have told us, Windows is simply NOT SAFE. Viri work in many ways, from Mass deletion of files, to file locks, to using your PC to hack others, to playing silly buggers with your desktop.
Without some sort of protection, you become a risk to your self and others - this can land you in big trouble with your ISP even though you dodin't know.
- Download AVG Anti-Virus and
MS Anti-spyware and Remember to always keep your system
up to date using windows update. Keep your Virus and Ad
Scanner up to date at all times.
