Artistīs Statement:
Here the goal is to explore the aesthetic properties of found materials, particularly items from a Mediterranean shore. This ancient body of water has molded these objects into the products as they appear in these photographs. The placement of and aesthetic accessories to these objects represent:
- an attempt at a return to a kind of "alchemical" ethos that has been documented in early modern history
- an iconic representation of postmodern paradigms of a mystical or esoteric bent
- a celebration of light and color in symbolic arrangements that hint at alchemical or magical elements
