Crime Does Pay!!!
Corruption edge Zambonis for Slap Shot title
The New Orleans Corruption proved once again that crime does pay, narrowly defeating the Zurich Zambonis and Flynt's Hustlers to win the first Slap Shot Championship. Led by an awesome defensive unit and late acquisition Zigmund Palffy, the Corruption built a huge early lead, only to see it dwindle significantly as the season wore on. Unfortunately for their pursuers, the deficit was too great, and the Corruption ended up squeaking by with a seven-point victory. Congratulation to this year's champions, the New Orleans Corruption! The Home Stretch
Final weeks of the season bring pressure games
The lead that would not stop growing is now the lead the continues to shrink. The New Orleans Corruption, in front for the vast majority of the season, have watched as their large lead has been cut into by the Zurich Zambonis and Flynt's Hustlers. Three shutouts in recent weeks by Corruption G Byron DaFoe are all that is keeping the Corruption at the comfortable distance. Will they be able to hold on, though? Can the Zambonis continue to rely on offense alone to reach the top? Can the Hustlers' goons return to their thuggish ways? More: Final Standings
