Monkeys Win, Monkeys Win!

The inaugural 1998 BraMBLe season has at last reached its close, with a result that is surprising to no one. The Proudest Monkeys have captured first place with an overall point total of 43.5, twelve points better than their closest pursuer, the Sackers of Peaceful Cities. The Monkeys won or shared the lead in six categories, three pitching and three hitting, a true testament to their well-rounded team. From all of us at the Proudest Monkeys website, we thank everyone for participating this year, and we hope to have you all back again soon.

Company, Anyone?

Less than one week after Mark McGwire connected for his 62nd homerun of the year, Sammy Sosa decided it was time for him to chase a little history of his own. Sosa smacked four homeruns in a weekend series against the Brewers, pulling him even (for a time) with McGwire in the homerun slugfest. For this accomplishment, Sammy Sosa is our twenty-third and final BraMBLe Player of the Week.
