A NURSE'S WISH ~~~~~ To be a nurse requires dedication, With years of study and preparation. I pray for guidance and humbly ask, That I will do well with this chosen task. When illness stikes or pain demands, And a life is placed within my hands, Give me compassion, knowledge and skill To do the things that comfort and heal. Let my work be all that I want it to be~~ I ask the great healer to work through me.~~ Author unknown The Humorous Side of Nursing Murphy's Laws for the Hospital: 1. Hungry doctors arrive on the floor only minutes after visitors have brought in candies and cakes for the nurses. 2. Other nurses get pulled to your unit only on the quietest shifts so that they believe that your floor is the easiest in the hospital and you never work as hard as they do. 3. Doctors cannot examine their patients without tearing apart your beautifully made beds.. 4. Patients who refuse to eat are the ones who stuff tissues in their mouths, chew their IV tubings in half, and attempt to drink from their urinals. 5. Starving NPO patients are wheeled up to the desk just as you are biting into a juicy jelly donut. 6. Restrained patients always manage to squirm down to the very bottom of the bed or stretcher, just to do it again the minute you pull them up. 7. The patients who are on the most oral medications are the ones who have the hardest times swallowing pills. 8. Patients who have their call bell answered after two minutes tell their families that they were kept waiting forever, while the ones who really have to wait never say a word.

CHARTING CHUCKLES ! * Patient complains of chest pain occasionally, otherwise just a pain. * If it weren't for the fact that the patient is dead, i'd say he's in perfect health. * The blood workup showed no antibodies present. Need the rest of the blood to be sure, however. * The skin prep covered the thoracic area from hairline to lumbar region. WHo's The Smartest of all ? A genie gives three physicians one wish each . The first physician says " I'm already the smartest pediatrician in the world, but i'd I like to be 25% smarter". POOF ! The genie makes the pediatrician becomes 25% smarter. The second physician says, " I'm already the smartest neurologisit in the world, but i'd like to be 50% smarter. POOF ! The genie makes the neurologisit 50% smarter. The third physician tells the genie, "I'm not only the smartest surgeon in the world, but i'm also the smartest person. But i'd like to be sure, I'd like you to make me 100% smarter. "This is the third and final wish", the genie says. "If I fulfull your wish, I can't change you back." "Just make me 100% smarter," the surgeon demands. "Okay," says the genie. POOF ! "Your a nurse." !!!!!!!!!
