A little about me: I retired after 21 years with the Fairfax County Virginia Police Department. I spent 13 years as a K-9 handler and worked 2 1/2 years training explosive dogs for the Federal government. I am now a consultant for a security firm that utilizes explosive detector dogs.
I am a certified U.S. Police Canine Association patrol dog trainer and have trained K-9 teams for several other departments as well as my own. I began collecting K-9 insignia while in K-9 school with my first dog.
In addition to collecting K-9 insignia, I have also designed and produced emblems for other units. I will be featuring some of the more rare and more interesting pieces from my collection to view. None of these items are for sale or trade, only for your viewing pleasure. I do have many K-9 patches and pins for trade but I do not keep a current trade list. If you are looking for a specific item please contact me only if you are seriously interested in trading patches.
If I do not know or have traded with you in the past, I will wait to receive your patch before I send mine. Unfortunately due to some unscrupulous collectors I will adhere to this policy. Do not be offended if I decline a trade as most of my trade stock consists of older and more rare patches of either very small or defunct units. I cannot replace them easily and I am not willing to trade them for patches which have been produced in bulk specifically to cater to the collector market.
I do not provide any advice or consultation on the training of law enforcement K-9s via email other than to individuals or agencies that I can verify their purpose or mission.
