THE WAY

In reality,
everything on Earth
a predatory mixture
of blessing and curse,
our social structure
of honest mutuality
a lying caricature
to hide venality.
Then "live simply
that others may
simply live"*
and so fairly endure
that moral stricture,
go timeless and pure
into eternity.
