Postmortem 2

What went wrong?
Why all this
ecocidal strife?
Because for too long
insane corporations
valued money
more than
life
even though
weather scientists detected
warning signs of disaster
all were greedily rejected
by bankers who swore an oath
to economic growth
forever damnit! --
on this slowly
shrinking
planet.
So
as pollution swirled
and the drought brought
crop-loss, hunger and thirst,
which death happened first,
my own instinctively fought
or the end of the World?
