To save the Earth
instead of more products
wrapped in plastic,
how much would it cost
to gently reduce our
growing mass of over
seven billion people
with family clinics
in neighborhoods
around the World,
and safely recycle
our growing tons of
garbage, trash, junk
smoke and fumes,
chemical waste and
plastic slurry and
then regenerate the
global wilderness?
Trillions of dollars
too much -- although
on the silent seacoasts
of lifeless continents,
amid the toxic seas
of a dead planet,
who would be rich?
