INSOMNIA

Hope to conserve some sort of
remaining balance of Nature
on this predator planet Earth
with human survival the motive
is another endangered creature
in these struggling lines of verse

since tons of sludge and trash
assault the global ocean
for company cost accounting
and late night dumpster cash
I entertained a notion
of public outcry mounting

to face the grim reality
of our common situation
that too much of a good thing
became the criminality
in these commercial populations
who ignore the overcrowding

to push their growth psychosis
exploding to launch at stars,
but killing their physical base.
To stop that grim prognosis
we tell what happened to Mars
and redeem the human race?
