As it turned out,
many of them knew
what they were doing
and what life on Earth
had always been about,
so they were hunters
and savvy businessmen,
wealthy and confident
in their expert knowledge
of how to track and kill,
skin, cut, split and merge
to take their rightful share
in the ever-expanding economy
and its ever-growing population,
even when prey was scarce
from their unrelenting
property development throughout
the remaining jungle and forest
(and the spreading waste and garbage)
they invested in astronomy
and deep space exploration,
rather more urgently then
as the planet turned sour
they expected to find
at least several more.
