Belive it or not he wasnt trained by anybody, he was just a guy that liked to fight and he got into the business just to beat poeple up.He started his carrer touring the Indys in Georgia where he had moderate succsess until he teamed with a struggleing mid carder named Mustafa Saed. The 2 became known as The Gangstas and they quickly became the most feared tag team in on the indy circuit. The team recived its first big break when they started wrestling to the Knoxville TN based Smoky Mountain Wrestling in 1993 were they developed a even more violent wrestling style that didnt suite the promotion well but they were one of the biggest draws in the ill faded compainies history, they are most rememberd in SMW for there bloody weapon filled battles with The Rock and Roll Express.
But SMW didnt have much to offer and really New Jack and Mustafa didnt get along well with some of the promothers there because of their violent style. But ECW loved it and hired the team in June of 1994, they shocked the world at Hardcore Heaven 95 when they beat the hell out of the then ECW Tag Champs the Public Enemy, they had some absolute bloodbaths with both PE and the Eliminators that lead to a Cage match at Heatwave 94 in what is being regarded as the most weapons filled match in the history of ECW, New Jack became the first man in the sport to carry a garbage can full of weapons into the ring with him.The Gangstas finally ran The Public Enemy out of ECW later that year.
The Gangstas took the ECW tag belts away from The Elimnators at House Party 96.And defended them against anybody, but they droped the belts back at The ECW arena to them but not with out one hell of a fight that seen New Jack Make his first ever dive off the balcony on Perry Saturn.After the Elimnators lost the belts to the Dudleys all hell broke loose this leading to a 3 way Dance for the Belts that the Duds won. A violent 3 way fued erupted but the Elimnators got the duke after they one a #1 contenders match against The Gangstas in Buffalo NY .The Elimnators got the shot at The Dudleys at the First ever ECW PPV Barely Legal and won, The Dudleys however went on a Temper Tantrum and vowed revenge against both The Elimnators and the Gangstas that seen them break the leg of Perry Saturn and the neck of Mustafa Saed.
This lead to the unlikely pairing in the summer of 97 of John Kronus and New Jack whether the 2 liked it or not, they took on the Dudleys at Hardcore Heaven 97 but lost , then a month later at the ECW arena they had a even more violent rematch, the match had more weapons that imaginable , new jack hit Bubba Ray with a shopping cart and other assorted weapons, while Kronus was repeatevly gouged by Devon with a cheese grater.But they came out with the ECW world tag team titles but they quickly lost them after the dudleys interfered in a title defense agaisnt the FBI (Full Blooded Italins)setting up a 4 way dance at The November to Remember 97 between, New Jack and Kronus, The Dudleys, Axl Rotten and Balls Mahoney, and the FBI which the FBI won cause well The Dudleys and New Jack elimated each other.
Then after a series of disputes between New Jack and Kronus the team broke up, and New Jack picked Little Spike Dudley to be his new partner, the 2 garnered probably the biggest high spot on and ECW ppv ever at Living Dangerously 98 as they both came off the top of a 35 feet high balcony on top of the Dudleys who were laying prone on 2 Tables!!!!!!! But Jack soon went on his own this seen him get into a very violent fued with Jack Victory that seen Victory nearly put New Jack out of wrestling on many occasion, the war was on as New Jack joined Tommy Dreamer, The Sandman and Spike to fight The Dudleys and Jack Victory. New Jack got his revenge when he put Victory out of ECW at the November to Remember 1998 when he broke Victories leg in a Car door and then hit him in the leg with a tire iron repeatively in the parking lot before a match.
So at the beginning of this 99, he and Spike Dudley began a vicious fued with the Dudleys again , But something was up, The Dudleys were being payed off by someone to get rid of New Jack only to find out the man paying the Duds was his former partner and friend Mustafa Saed,There match at Living Danderously 99 went to new hieghts of EXTREME violence seeing New Jac k leaping off the balconey in the asbury park convention center once again to put mustfa through a table.But after he pinned Mustafa in the middle of the ring after being drug back but ECW securtiy out came the dudleys jumpiing New Jack and leaving him for dead.But after this fiasco New Jacks biggest challenge wouldnt come in the ring it would come in court.A incident that took place in late 1996 would come back not only to haunt New Jack but ECW .At a show in Massechesets a 18 year old boy lied to ECW owner Paul Heyman about his age to get a try out with the company, Eric Kulas who had been working comedy matched with 2 midgets on the indy circit under the name Ralph "Mass Trandsent"Crandom was given the chance to team with d-Von Dudley in place of Axl Rotten .But little did he know that his opponents for the night would be the Gangstas
It was your typical match with the gangstas, there was a spot in the match that called for Kulas to bleed well in true New Jack fashion he took a sharp object to Kulas head to but him open but it didnt work finally New Jack took a pocket knife and gashed the kid wide open, then hit the 187 for the win.Kulas who didnt know the wrestling business very well and didnt know how to take bumps was severly hurt.The lawsuit was filed in the fall of 1997 and finally went to court after the living dangerously PPV.The trial only lasted 7 days as prosocutors tried every thing they could to put New Jack in jail bringin up his troubled past and the fact that before New Jack became a wrestler he was a bounty hunter.But it didnt work New Jack was found not guilty but his future with ECW was uncertain at best.But finally ECW brought New Jack back at Heat Wave 99 to jump the dudleys after there match with Balls Mahoney and Spike Dudley.
Now with New Jack back all hell broke loose in ECW there was a brief period where Jack fought with Balls and Axl over who was the most hardcore wrestler in ECW.But when the baldies hit ECW all that changed.When Angel,Devito,News and Vito The Skull joined forces to form the baldies the orignal gangsta was forced to take action, teaming with the hardcore chair swting freaks,Angel and New Jack would go on to wage war with each other for the title King Of The Streets.There brutal matches would see all the baldies catch Balls and Axl not in the building so they could jump New jack,Angel went so far as to use New jacks own staple gun to staple him in the EYE!!! The war was on, New Jack ,Balls and Axl would challenge all 4 baldies as Novmember to Remember 99 , but Angel scored the wing by hitting new jack with his own guitar.But Balls and Axl got revenge by running news and Vito out of ECW.You would think that this would help matters well no.They baldies brought in a new ally, Grimes.The war between New Jack and Angel intensified but because of Grimes who would literlay try to destroy New Jack Angel would keep on winning.At Guilty As Charged 2000 Angel again with the help of th rest of the baldies would rob New Jack again.The Baldies would injure New Jack every time they got a hold of him.Even re injring New Jakcs left foot so bad he had to have surgery on it, he mad his return to kick the bladies asses at Living Dangerously 2000, and that he did sending Angel and devito to the hospital and proably doing the crasiest stunt in ECW history.Jack and Grimes brawled into the crowd after hitting New Jack with a baseball bat grimes sandwiched him inbetwen 2 table then climed the scaffoling beside them, New jack got up and then went after Grimes, then all hell broke loose New jack drug Grimes off the scaffold missing the 2 tables and hitting the concrete floor,Grimes was un hurt but New Jack was takend to the hospital with a concussion.The war rages on for who is the king of the streets.
