Beleve it or not before Stone Cold Said so, he was The SUPERSTAR in ECW.Here now is the story of how Steve Austin entered ECW as the Superstar from WCW and ended up creating what was the start of the Stone Cold Persona

1995,WCW was in a state of change, Eric Bichoff had just gotten permission to use Billonare Teds check book to buy any and every superstar he could to try to compete with the WWF.At this time WCW went through with there plans to compete with the WWF in starting there own Monday Night show on TNT.It was also at this time WCW started getting rid of any wrestlers that although still over and working hard wasnt over with the now heiarcal system AKA Hulk Hogan.The then Stunning Steve Austin was one of those men.Austin who had been with WCW since the summer of 91 had held every title in the company besides the world title and was one of the most over heels of the 90s,he also was apart of one of the best heel tag teams of all time with his partner,The late Brian Pillman,in The Hollywood Blondes.But the politics that is WCW broke the team up in early 94 and set Austin on his own,Austin didnt care for it too much and refused to work for WCW for a long while, in the summer of 94.WCW finally wooed him back and as a peace offering they put the United States title on him since Ricky Steamboat was ready to call it quits, a title they quickly took off of him and gave to Hacksaw Jim Duggan in September of that year.Again Austin was growing tired of WCWs tactics, then in a bad move, WCW sent Austin to Japan to compete for New Japan Pro Wrestling while they thought of something to do with him,it was at this time in the spring of 1995 in his 4th trip to japan for WCW Austin tore his bicep in a match in the tokyo dome against Shinyana Hasamoto and was imediatly sent home.A month went by before Austin heard from WCW on the matter and when he did it wasnt good.In fact it wasnt even WCW calling, Eric Bichoff told his secertary to call Austin and to tell him to call Bichoff, when he did, Bichoff proceded to fire the injured Austin over the phone.Enter ECW!!!!!!!

Paul E and Tod Gordon got on the phone with Austin during his rehab and had somehow snagged him, the WWF didnt have any interest in him and Austin agreed to work with the renagade company.We wouldnt see Steve Austin in ECW until late September of 95 when he showed up in the ECW arena and imeadeatly caused all hell to break loose.Gangstas Paradise 95 the night that Public Enemy and Mikey Whipwreck faced The Sandman,Too Cold Scorpio and Gangsta New Jack in the first Gangsats Paradise Cage match, at the end of ECW TV word got out that a fight broke out between The Public Enemy, Scorpio and New Jack.Joey Styles and ECW Cameras went to the scene as the 4 were being broke up a stoic figure was seen in the background ranting and raving right along with this,Joey Styles turned around and seen the man an imedatly screamed, HEY YOUR STEVE AUSTIN.Austin who was actually dressed as Hulk Hogan,started to make fun of this former employer and Hogan himself by calling him self the STEVESTER and proclaiming that STEVAMANIA was gonna run wild in ECW ,BROTHER!!!! Then Austin looked at himself and said the infamous words.THIS SHIT ISNT GONNA CUT IT ANYWHERE EVEN IN ECW!!!!With that statement Austin started raising hell all over ECW.After making breif appearances all over the territory to mouth off with The Sandman and cutting some scorching promos on WCW he appeared the next month at the ECW Arena, Mikey Whipwreck finally got his shot at The Sandman for the world title in a Extreme Ladder Match.Before the match even started Austin stalked down to the ring climbed the ladder in the middle and imedaltly proclaimed that he would not only was he the next in line for a shot at whom ever one the belt, but he would also whip his ass.He then flipped both men off and then kidnapped The Sandmans manager Woman , stole his beer and left.That wasnt all we would see out of the EXTREME SUPERSTAR., later when The Sandman was ready to end his brutal domination of Mikey,Austin appeared,hit the sandman beween the eyes with the ladder and then in the abdomen setting Sandman up for the kill and Mikey pinned The Sandman and won the ECW world title.Austin had just cost The Sandman his world Title, now things were gonna get EXTREMELY interesting.

We now go to the November To Remember 95,After numerous confrontations with The Sandman Austin vowed that he would somehow interject himself into the November to To Remember main event.But for The Sandman to get his rematch he and ECW World Tag Team Championship and ECW Tv Champion partner,Too Cold Scorpio,had to defend there belts against The Public Enemy and for The Sandman to get his rematch they had to win.Sandman and Scorpio won the match and he got his shot at the belt.But he never even made it halfway down the ring as Austin now being known as Superstar Steve Austin jumped him from behind the curtain and took his place in the match against Mikey for the world title.Austin took Mikey to lengths of Extreme that had never been seen out of him in WCW.But in the end The Upset Kid somehow pulled off a clean victory against the Superstar.2 weeks later The Sandman got his chance at revenge as he jumped Austin before his match with his tag partner Too Cold Scorpio.It was finally signed for the next ECW arena show in December.The main event for The December To Dismember 95 would be a 3 way Dance for the ECW Heavyweight Championship of the World, Mikey Whipwreck would defend his belt against The Sandman and Superstar Steve Austin.But for this match we would se an entirely different Austin, gone was the long blonde locks *yes for all you pre WWF attituders Austin had hair in 95*gone was the trademark colorful tights, in came a bald headed , goat tee wearing Steve Austin that came to wrestle in what the WCW didnt want him to wear to the ring, Black boots and black tights and his now trademark middle finger in the air.This was Stone Cold before the Stone Cold Gimmick was throught of.The Extreme Superstar and Mikey Whipwreck battled it out for over 10 minutes before the Extreme Icon himself made his way to the ring and when he did all hell broke loose.After Sandmans trademark entrance, Austin threw Mikey out of the ring and thr fight started.Austin and Sandman started brawling all over the ring but Mikey would capitalize on the situation and get a few good shots in on em both.But 2 on one didnt suite mikey well as Austin hit his stun gun and they both pinned Mikey for the win.NOW it was The Sandman and The Extreme Superstar standing in the middle of the ring , it didnt take long until they decided to rip eachother a new ass.The brawl spilled onto the floor as Austin took a chair and started swatting at sandman, Austin would control most of the brawl until sandman started swinging chairs and got the upper hand.Austin would come back after sandman Charged him and stun guned him onto the guardrail.Austin then stole one of sandmans beers and started drinking.Austin after putting sandman through a table rolls him back into the ring and pulls out a pair of brass knuckles but gets them taken away by woman.After a pin attempt Austin gets in the refs face, then sandman charges austin knocking the ref down then sandman is handed the knucs by woman then BAM,Austin Goes down hes unconcious.Sandman covers for the pin and takes his second of 4 ECW World Title.Austin crys foul but now body listens.Weeks later Steve Austins Last apperacnce in ECW was a promo he cut about wanting his job back with WCW begging Eric Bichcoff to let him come back.

But just just weeks later after that promo we saw Austin on WWF television as The Ringmaster.And the rest is history.Austin went on to become the biggest star in the business with the help of ECW
