Current Major Unit :
Our first major unit will be Arthurian Literature (the study of the legends
of King Arthur). Through studying this unit, we will be particiapting
in our schoolwide theme, "Medieval
to the Max," which involves many classes and which will conclude with
a medieval banquet on Saturday, October __, 1999.
Extra Credit Options:
Students who participate in the medieval
banquet (volunteering, performing, attending
and displaying work, etc.) will receive extra credit.

Other extra credit options involve
the fieldtrip
to the Maryland Renaissance Festival on Saturday September 18, 1999.

Major Assignment/s:
One major assignment will be a character analysis paper on the character
of your choice from the Arthur legends. Be sure to consider the elements
on the rubric
for this paper.
Other Assignments: As part of our Arthur unit,
we will also study heraldry (the design of family crests/shields).
