During the past 45+ years, Smith's educational activities have included service as modern-day
College Faculty Dept Head, as a national Curriculum Development Consultant for the 10-state
Southern Regional Education Board, Executive Director of a community-based Developmental
Learning Center, Co-ordinator of a 7-county, Off-Campus Continuing Health Education Grant,
College Director of Seminars in a national tourism market, founder of a Judeo-Christian Think
Tank, 17th & 18th Century "Historical Interpreter" in 1639 Brick Church on 1607 Jamestown
Island & 1775 Colonial Williamsburg, & an Advisor for the newly-reconstructing 1611 Citie of
Henricus, plus...the Owner/Skipper of the James River's "First Colledge Cruising Classroom".
Smith, ardent advocate for official governmental recognition of the "1606 a.d. 1st Va Charter
as Birth Certificate of American Civilization", has initiated (& written) legislation enacted in
the Virginia General Assembly (1995:Law) & (2006:Resolution) & (2017:Resolution), plus the
SC House of Representatives (2007:Virginia Charter) & (2015:Magna Carta, which also was
passed by Florence SC's City & County Councils, Florence School Board, & the City Council
of Myrtle Beach). Regarding the two State's enactments, Smith smiles & says: "Well, that's two
down, & only 48 to go"!
The revived Colledge also has been featured in various newspaper articles, The Va Public TV
Channel's "Pocahontas", & the 700 Club's TV feature on 1619 West Africans not being kept
as slaves. The Colledge's "Teaching Display" has won Blue Ribbons at the annual James City
County Fairs, & has had both a display booth & History Cruises at several of the annual "1611
Citie of Henricus Publik Days" events.
