Serbians and Croations on Greater Serbia tend to be nearly indistinguishable, except for that one is Orthodox
and the other Latin, and that the Croats use Latin letters while Serbians use Cyrillic. They speak the same language,
although they cannot read each other's writing. Culturally they are nearly indistinguishable, and their forces are
organized more or less identically. Local leaders raise batallions, and when they either combine forces or one leader
acquires the resources to raise more batallions, a brigade headquarters group is formed to control the batallions.
Usually a brigade will have from 2-5 infantry batallions, 1 motorized or armored batallion, and up to
three batteries of mixed field and air defense artillery. Rarely there will be 2-3 motorized or armored batallions. Poorer
princelings may raise a mixed batallion if they cannot afford a larger force--frequently an armored company added
onto an infantry batallion. The weapons listed are local manufacture. Frequently, there are some replaced by obsolete NRE or other foreign weapons permitted to be imported by the Romans to maintain a balance of power. Most Roman officials somewhat favor the Serbs, but none want them to become to powerful, for fear that a common religion will not prevent the Serbs from raiding Roman settlements or infringing on Roman commercial interests.
