The Royal Jordanian Army traces it's roots back to the original Arab Army raised by the Hashemites against the Ottoman Empire.
The function of the Royal Jordanian Army is defined in the Constitution as "defense of the realm and it's safety"
It consists of a small force of full-time regulars, with the officers and NCOs being long-service soldiers. Discharged soldiers are liable
for call-up until age 40, but this is a fairly notional duty, with call-up only in case of a planetary invasion, and the former soldiers would
likely be used as replacement in regular formations and as combat support personell. There is also a small Mobile Police Force which
is trained and armed in a paramilitary manner, as is the counter-terrorist Special Police Force. The King is defined in the Constitution
as the Supreme Commander of the Army, Naval, and Aerospace Forces.

Uniforms and Insignia
The uniforms of the RJA are deliberately designed to reflect their roots as a British-led and -trained force. It has been largely preserved
over the years. Field uniforms are a desert tan. On the shoulder-straps of all troops is a metallic gold arc reading, in Arabic, "The Arab
Army". Unit patches are authorized, and worn in garisson. In garisson, the usual, if unauthorized, headgear is a kafiya, a traditional headcloth in a red and
white chequered design. It is secured by the aigal, a two-looped black cord. This is almost never worn in the field, in contrast to the
undisciplined Islamic Federation troops. New Jordanians sometimes scornfully refer to an IF formation in the field as "looking and
sounding like a political rally." Berets are the authorized headgear, in Chocolate Brown for Infantry (and scouts/scout vehicle
crewmen), black for Armor, Navy Blue for Artillery, Light Blue for Engineers, Maroon for Special Forces, Dark Green for Royal Guards,
and Red for MPs. Support troops wear a desert tan beret.
Insignia is on shoulder straps for officers, and on sleeves for NCOs and Other Ranks

Space Forces
Most New Jordanian starships and spacecraft were either captured intact from the Islamic Federation, were Emirate of New Jordan
ships before the coup, or were purchased from the NRE or Alarishi Empire. The NRE also passes captured Islamic Federation equipment
to the New Jordanian Navy on occasion.
FTL Fleet:
Carrier Group "Hussein": 1xDimashq Class Carrier (Hussein), 2xSabre class CL, 2xHoms class DD, 2xTurs class DDE, 1x60-mass Tug

Battle Squadron "Suleiman": 1xSaladin class BC "Suleiman Ibn Amr Al Hashemi", 1xAdmiral Class CA, 1xThessalonika

STL Fleet:
Carrier Group "Abdullah":1xDimashq Class Carrier, 2xSabre class CL, 2xTurs class DDE. The Abdullah was a Emirate of New Jordan ship
who's crew mutinied. In the fighting the FTL drive was damaged. Remaining parts were cannibalized to repair the Hussein and the Suleiman,
and the ship refitted to carry a fifth fighter squadron instead of an FTL drive. Points cost 320. Total, 958 including the five fast fighter squadrons.
Battle Squadron 1: 2xQaws class CLG, 1xTurcoman class CL, 2xTurs class DDE (778)
New Israel Jordan Defense Force (Hacracha HaganaYarden): The New Israeli Navy chose to deploy a squadron of it's
own warships to New Jordan rather than simply selling the ships and training Jordanian crews like the NRE did.
