ALGER

I am searching for family members with information on the Alger Families in and around the Towns and/or Villages of Oneonta,Milford, Davenport, Unadilla, Colliers, Roseboom, Warnersville area.

The following names and information is what I have to work with so far:

Leon Alger and wife Clara (Cummings) Alger)(Clara's 1st marriage was to Edward Mikle on May 11, 1899 in Cobbleskill).

Leon's Parents: Ira Wallace Alger and wife Mary Alice (Bennett) Alger married on Nov 30, 1882,

Ira's 2nd marriage and Mary's 1st. (Believe Leon to be Ira's child from 1st marriage, wife died shortly after son's birth? Possible 2nd son named Arthur.

Ira's parents: Delos Alger and Cornelia Ceperley, Milford/Oneonta, NY.

Mary Alice Bennett's Parents: Isaac Bennett and Sarah Atkins of Davenport, NY.

Have Delos' death certificate that states that David Alger and Elizabeth (Beams) Alger are the parents of Delos. However, just recently recieved from the the Oneonta Daily Star (Thank You so very, very much Besty Sullivan) a copy of both the Death Notice of Aug 2, 1912, and Obituary dated Aug 3, 1912, that shows David Alger and Catherine (Beams) Alger as the parents of Delos. It further stated that Delos' Grandfather was Stoughton Alger who came to the Oneonta area just after the Revolutionary War. Stoughton settled on the "BULL farm at the Plains" and was buried there in 1816. Stoughton's wife was believed to be Ruth Taylor.

Also Very Important:
1. Have recieved word that a Paul Douglas Alger (son of Alonzo Alger and Letitica (Brooks) Alger) had the Family Bible with much info in it. It is thought that Paul and his wife Agnes Hemmings, along with their two daughters move to California somewhere. Any one knowing of this branch of the family PLEASE contact me ASAP. Thanks...

2. I am still searching for a place location in Delaware Co. called "Young's Station". Has anyone ever heard of this place or location? This is where Leon Alger was reported to be born on July the 29th, 1882. As the D&H railroad ran through this area it might have been a RR station in Youngs, Del Co. Can anyone confirm?
