Well, here's my page about me.. me me me me.. well, okay, I'm not that self centered.
Various and Sundry Facts
My name is Lauren and I am currently at 17 years of age.
At home, I enjoy computers, television, reading, and music. I'm fairly good with computers, and know enough HTML to put
this page together.
Our family has several pets, in fact we have 9 collectively. I'm a big animal person, which is good because in general, I'm not a
big social guru.
As I said, I'm a big TV junkie.
I enjoy comedies, science fiction, and cartoons. I love watching Drew Carey and Whose Line is It Anyway, as well as the
occasional First Wave or Farscape episode. My favorite American cartoons are Freakazoid and Pinky and the Brain, but I
can watch a wide range of them.
Unlike most of the girls I know, I am a BIG fan of anime. Right now my favorites are Escaflowne, DragonBallZ and Gundam
Wing. Sure, I get patronized about it every once in a while, but I really dont' care. It's a lot better than watching Dawson's
Creek.
I am also a video game junkie, and can spend hours playing. Mostly, I like RPGs and my favorites are Donkey Kong Country
and Zelda 64. I even engage in several online RPGs/MUDs such as one I'm playing as I write this.
My music taste ranges from Fuel to Toad the Wet Sprocket to INXS. It's hard to put all of it in a category, but it's mostly
mellowed out stuff I guess. The rest of the bands you can find on my music page.
At school, I'm an A-B student who is either very quiet or else very hyper, sometimes maybe even eccentric. I'm not the sporty
type of person, so I'm not involved in any of that. However, I'm on both the English and All around MACC teams which does
require some brainpower. All Around is mostly trivia, while in English we have to deal with
types of sentences, grammar, and reading. The reading part is kind of unusual, because of the stories we read. Many of them
are very strange and disturbing, or else kind of morbid. In one way, it's good because the stories can make you think in a
different perspective, but in another I wish they'd put some HAPPY stories on the list!!
My friends, (you know who you are) rock beyond rock-iness in their own special ways. 'Nuff said there.
My favorite books include The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien and such works as Jurassic Park
and Eaters of The Dead by Michael Crichton.
I play guitar sometimes, though not as often as I used to. I don't like chords, but single picking is very easy. I have two
guitars myself; a Stella Classical and a Washburn Acoustic which is HUGE. I don't expect to ever really be great at it, but it's
fun.
I write a lot, although most of it rarely gets put down on paper or shown to people. I'm very critical to my own work and often
feel like it's not good enough to show. It's also difficult for me to write assigned papers which makes it harder for me in English
class.
I also appreciate the occasional card game. Normally, I can play a fair game of Solitaire but I'd rather be playing Rummy
against someone. I've also recently learned how to play Magic: The Gathering and I can admit to liking it. I use a white/green deck with a focus on creatures with a few spells thrown in. My two favorite cards? 6th Edition Archangel and Invasion Darigaaz the Igniter. (Heheh..)
