after the death of Barbara, he sold the farm in 1912 and reserved a 30 x 30 plot for a cemetary on Orchard Drive close to the road.
died July 1920 in Elon, Amherst Co., VA
burried in the private cemetery along with perhaps their daughter Bertha and two grandchildren Percy Schmid & Corrie Schmid.
in the 1970's the land was subdivided, the gravestones were removed and the plot graded.
