Sceptre 19"
I love this lcd monitor. This monitor has a 12ms response time and a resolution of 1280x1024. I got this for under $300, what a bargain. The quality is great for gaming and watching movies. It even has built-in speakers, not the loudest speakers, but are better than nothing. This would be perfect if it had a dvi interface. There is a 8ms one which has has dvi and a resolution of 1600x1200 but is a little too expensive.

Western Digital Raptor
Topic: Hardware
This is by far the fastest SATA drive available for regular consumer use. It has the rpm of a SCSI drive, but is a fraction of the cost. Two of these in a RAID 0 and you are set.

Tivo DVR
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Gadgets
This is my favorite thing in the living room. I don't think I can live without it. Tivo lets you Remote Schedule, Transfer shows to your PC, Record a whole season of a show, Create wishlists, Listen to mp3s, Display Photos and so much more. You can even hook up a wireless adapter to it and make it a media center pc. My favorite feature would have to be their home media kit, this allows you to run java based programs from your computer to the tivo. I hope they are around for a long time.

INOi HD363N
Topic: Hardware
The INOi HD363N is the greatest NAS for it's price. I got the 80gig for $120. This is targeted for people that want to share files on their network without having a computer on all the time. This can also be used as a ftp server(SAMBA). The InOi has all the software needed for an ftp built-in. You can host your own ftp site without a dedicated computer. It can even be used as a DHCP server. This gets two thumbs up!

Orinoco Gold
Topic: Hardware
This wireless card is great for people that use linux. Most distros of Linux have native support for the Orinoco chipset. When I booted up into knoppix I did not have to configure anything, the card automaticly connected to the strongest access point. It works great on Windows systems as well. I use this card on Windows XP and Slax. This card even has a jack for an external antenna.

Archos Gmini 402
Mood:  a-ok
Topic: Gadgets
This is one of the best mp4 players I have seen. The Gmini is extremely simple to use. It works great with windows media player 10. This player can store 80 hours of video and 650 hours of music. It supports all sorts of video formats like mpg, divx, xvid etc. The ipod video requires you to convert the video before you transfer it to the device. I also love the battery life on this thing , 5 hours for video and 15 hours of audio. For under $300 this is an excellent buy.
