Checkmate’s Star Shooter

…..Out in central Idaho where Salmon River flows.....

Here lives a young buckskin stallion under the bright sun of the continental divide.

He runs with a herd of the finest Foxtrotter mares this side of the Missouri. They graze in

Green meadows next to the sparkling waters of the Lemhi River, where Sacagawea and

Her Shoshone tribe once called home. He is here to make his mark, to contribute his

bloodlines and leave an outstanding legacy of foals in this western country.

Checkmates Star Shooter, the son of Cloud's Checkmate and a dam with Gold

Man and Poole Boy breeding, is the hottest new stallion on the block. He has proven

himself in the show ring for the last two years as the Grand Champion Model Stallion

every time he has shown. This last year among his many accomplishments he has won

the accolade of repeated Model and Three Gait Championships, and has been the

blue ribbon winner of many Western Pleasure and horsemanship classes. In the last

two years he has won the honor of National Merit recognition as a High Point Stallion

in both Regional and National standings for Model, Two Gait, Three Gait, and

Western Pleasure classes. Not only has this stallion shown his versatility in the

show ring, but he has shown his ability on the ranch and trail, as well. You will find

him in the central mountains of Idaho working cattle, leading a pack string, or on the

trail in the Rocky Mountains.

All who see this charismatic horse have been awed by his beauty, his buckskin

dun coloring, size at 15'3", and his level headed demeanor. His striking looks

and excellent confirmation, compliment his steady and true foxtrot.  He is a stout young

athlete with great ability and rhythm. Like his father, Checkmate, he sires

excellent foals.

He has been campaigned in the show ring over the last two years and is now

ready to stand to outside mares. Because of his busy schedule we chose not to breed

many mares. But he has a few great colts on the ground and they have excellent

confirmation, color, and show tremendous potential and promise for the future.

He will stand in Salmon, Idaho in the early spring this year. For our Utah

customers, he will stand the latter half of the breeding season in American Fork. His

breed fee is private treaty. Veterinary and mare care are additional.

We look forward to hearing from you. To contact us please call or email.
