THE LISA
I love walnut
I love the feel of a hand plane cutting the supple grain of this marvelous wood.
The grain patterns are visual candy( the expensive chocolate kind that comes in
fancy boxes and each piece is individually wrapped)  The smell  of walnut being cut
with hand or power tools is pleasantly like no other.  I designed and built a
steamer for the wood technology lab at Southern Utah University and I learned
to bend wood.  Consequently the rockers are laminated bent walnut.  I also
purchased a lathe and a semi-manual lathe duplicator so I was able to turn
the posts and the finials.  The project was donated to the La Puente High School
Class of 1959 scholarship fund and was placed in the home of Mrs. Lisa and
Doctor Darren Housel of Las Vegas Nevada.
