333: Rurouni Kenshin * * * * *
easily one of the best anime ever. this is a story set in Japan in the Meiji Era (app. 250 years ago)about Japan trying to be taken over by evil samurai and an underground war raging. Kenshin, AKA the 'hitokiri battousai (demon swordsman?)' and ' himura battosai (first name, swordsman)' Kenshin is a legendary swordsman who is fed up with being an assasin since he killed his gf in a fight accidently (she saved his life, btw.see 'SAMURAI X') he decided to be a wandering 'rurounin' who just protects the people. he traded his old katana for a sword with a reversed blade, so he couldn't kill anyone ever again, fearing he might endanger someone else. now, hes met up with many friends (yahiko, Sagara Sanosuke, Kaoru Kamiya) and they're ready to smack the living **** (dung ^^) outta the badguys. HAYAH~!
Neon Genesis: Evangelion * * * * *
this is the story of 3 gifted teens with the talent to control gigantic robots. these robots were made to destroy alien life-forms called, "angels." the angels wreak havoc in little tokyo, and its up to the 3 teens to save the day. Who are these gifted teens? they're Shinji Ikari, the 3rd child to be selected to pilot the massive robots called, "evas" Shinji controls a gigantic robot by the name of "Unit 0-1" or "eva0-1" for short. Shinji is a very shy junior in highschool and doesnt have much friends. he likes to do alot of deepthinking and he loves chocolate. his father is the leader of an organization called,"NERVE" and is a ruthless and cold-hearted person. he doesnt care much for his son's well-being, and he was very cold-hearted toward shinji. even when Shinji was a small toddler, his father was ruthless and hecka mean to shinji. hes one bad*ss if you will. lol. anyways, the reason his dad is mean to him, is cause Shinji's mother, E-something, died giving birth to shinji. Shinji's dad somehow fused his dead wife's corpse into the gigantic robot. Thats why Shinji's eva0-1 is called a "berzerker" since whenver shinji is in deep doo doo, shinji's mom will take over the robot and start fighting like crazy and kinda brutally (eatin, biting and popping their faces) Rei Ayanami, the first child to be accepted into NERVE. Rei is even shyer than shinji, and doesnt speak much. her abnormally pale face and non-human expressions reveal her real identity as a....well, i wont spoil it for you, but its probably a dead givaway. Rei doesnt really take pleasure in anything except having some really deep conversations with shinji. besides being hella hot, she controls the Eva4 which later blew up, so she currently controls the eva6. the deal behind rei is really mysterious and not much is known about her past. Asuka Langley. the b*tchiest girl ever. she thinks shes a princess and shes also one of the only american people in the NERVE organization. shes a hot girl that pilots the EVA2, the best one of the evas. it has the strongest power and the most speed, but even though she is the second child and has extraordinary control over her eva, she often finds herself in really bad and dangerous situations. her care-free and angry attitude sometimes lead herself to death. Asuka came from europe to become the 2nd child in NERVE because her mother didn't want to have her around. although she might seem b*itchy most of the time, she hides the real person inside of her, a sensitive and sweet child who had a rough childhood. neon genesis evangelion is probably the best anime out right now. if youre into bloody and violent fight scenes but also a WHOLE lot of talking, this is the anime for you. it aslo has the best theme song in my opinion, cruel angel's thesis. "dahum goku no temo shi no mete, kanashii no shinji nari tara!!! (something like that"
