"Avery.." she heard a worn out voice from behind her.

Taylor's jaded disposition was frightening.

"Go in… he won't talk to me or Ike. Try… Avery." with that left the waiting room.

She slowly opened room 1191, and was scared at what she saw. His back was facing her, but she could still see the tubes pouring blood back into his system. An oxygen mask also appeared to be over his nose, and there were thick white bandages on his wrists. The bedcovers were a tangled mess at the foot of his bed, and his pale legs looked bare under the blue hospital gown.

What on earth had happened to her Zac?

"Zaccy?"

She wanted him to answer her, maybe with a thank you for what she had done.

No answer.

She repeated herself a little louder.

"Zaccy?"

A few seconds later he turned his body, and without a word faced her.

She stared back at it and sighed bitterly. Oh boy.

How could it have gone from knowing him inside out, to then finding herself staring at the face of this stranger?
A complete and total stranger was what was facing her.
His deep brown eyes held so much-- anger, fatigue, frustration, depression, guilt, confusion, desperation. But those emotions were that of another boy. A boy named Zac she had once known. A boy she so desperately wanted to know now, but didn't. She wanted to run up to him and hug him, she wanted him to tell her everything, she wanted so much and she was only ten... too little to be feeling this, too little to be forced to mature so fast. She wanted it to be how it had been before. Deep down inside, however, she knew that this time it wouldn't.

Not anymore.

"Hi Zachary." She tried again.

No response. But she saw his eyes fixate on her face.

In Zac's world, he was staring at her mostly in anger and partly in desperation.

The thing with Zac is… He'd lost all contact with the outside world. He was now in this inner world, this psychological state of mind that he wouldn't share with anybody else. All he heard now were voices, voices trying to destroy whatever he had left.

In Zac's opinion, Avery, the one who had been there for him whenever he needed her, had completely let him down.
Didn't she understand that he couldn't keep living the way he was? That suicide was the perfect answer, and that by saving his life she had actually ruined it? He had almost gotten away, almost escaped the reality and the pain that he lived with. Pain in the fact that his mother couldn't stand to look at him after what happened, pain in the fact that he had ruined not only his career, but the career of his brothers. Pain in the fact that he was so confused, and so lonely, and so scared, and so not sure of anything anymore. He had just wanted to be happy. He just wanted to feel normal, he wanted to exist in peace. Or not exist at all, for that matter. By running away from his reality… that's what would have happened.

Then why had Avery saved him?

Why did she have to ruin it? Didn't she understand that he was doing this for a reason? Why did she have to mess everything up?

He felt himself getting angrier by the second, angrier at her deed. At what she had done to him.

And the voices chanted…

If it wasn't for her you would be away right now.

She ruined it for you, she destroyed your plan.

Why would she want you to suffer in this life if she loved you?

She never loved you Zac, never.

She was only pretending, just like everybody else.

Like your fans, like your friends… she was a lie Zac. She wanted you to suffer!

She's just like the rest of them!

They wouldn't stop. All in unison, creating this harmony of hypnotic sound.

Just like the rest of them… just like the rest of them… she never loved you!

Just like the rest of them…

A sound was then heard, coming from within Zac.

"You little bitch…"
