George P. Sheppard, the only son of the marriage of (Francis Marion Sheppard) and Mary Elizabeth (Thompson) Sheppard who survived to adulthood, was born 17 May 1868 in Clarksville, Arkansas. The 1870 Federal census records of Arkansas show him residing with his parents in Clarksville and the 1880 census records show him residing with his parents and sisters in Bellefonte, Arkansas.On 20 December 1891 he is shown as a resident of Clarksville, Arkansas and married Josephine "Josie" Bradley of Ozone, Arkansas. Josie is the daughter of the Reverend George Bradley and Martha Ann (Harris) Bradley and was born on 26 January 1872 in Ozone.
George P. and Josie Sheppard move to Harrison, Arkansas where a daughter, Ruth G., is born on 30 August 1892. On 2 March 1894 a son Royce Herman is born. The family then moved to Ozone in Johnson County, Arkansas where another son, Charley, is born on 29 February 1896. On 22 July 1898 another son, Chester Adam, is born here.
The family next moved to Bear Creek Township in Boone County, Arkansas near the parents of George P. and were living there at the time of the 1900 census. While living in this area George P. and Josie become the parents of a set of twins, Harry and Carrie, on10 March 1901. On 18 June 1901 George P. homesteaded 160 acres in Johnson county (S32, T12N, R23W).
The family then moved to Franklin County, Arkansas where another son, George Francis, is born near Altus on 13 July 1905. A second set of twins, Argus and Agnes, are born near Roseville on 27 November 1908.
In 1911 the family moved by train to an area northeast of Dustin in Hughes County, Oklahoma. They loaded all farm animals, implements, household furnishings and personal belongings into boxcars for their move to Oklahoma. They subsequently moved into the community of Dustin. About 1915 Josie's father, Rev. George Bradley and her brother, Ed rode the Fort Smith & Western RR over for a visit with the family. In1916 George P. and Josie moved to the Wetumka, Oklahoma area. Military registration records from World War I show Royce, Charley and Chester all registering from the Wetumka area. Charley was called into service and served in Europe. He was killed in France following the armistice by an ammo explosion.George P. Sheppard died 12 December 1949 at the home of his son, Chester, in Calvin, Oklahoma and is buried in the Wetumka, Oklahoma cemetery. Josie (Josephine Ava) died 29 January 1952 in a Holdenville, Oklahoma hospital and is also buried in the Wetumka cemetery.
Ruth Gertrude Sheppard was born 30 August 1892 in Harrison, AR and married Daniel Thornburg, born 6 Feb 1890. They are the parents of three sons and one daughter.

- James Elmer Thornburg died 5 July 1972 in Illinois.
- Wallace Dean Thornburg who died 11 Jan 1983 in Texas.
- Elva Thornburg who married Edna Oliver. They are the parents of two daughters. Elva died 13 Dec 1989 in Denton, TX.
Daniel Thornburg died in Feb 1979 and Ruth Thornburg died in Feb 1981. Both are buried in Sapulpa, OK.
Royce Herman Sheppard was born 2 Mar 1894 in Harrison, AR and married Myrtle Viola Walker on 25 Jun 1916 in Henryetta, OK. They are the parents of ten children.

- Anna Mae Sheppard was born 22 Jan 1930. She died 31 Oct 1958 and is buried at Calvin, OK. She never married.

Chester Adam Sheppard was born 22 Jul 1898 in Ozone, AR and married Garney Jewel Cook on 24 July 1932 in Calvin, OK. They are the parents of five children.

- Kenneth Sheppard who married Dorothy Sue Collins. They are the parents of two sons and two daughters.
- Chester Louis Sheppard who was born 27 Jul 1941 and died 2 Jul 1996 in AZ.
- Priscilla Sue Sheppard who married Ronald Carroll Baker. They are the parents of a son and two daughters.
- Kermet E. Sheppard who married (1) Julia Dial and (2) Nancy Littke. Kermet and Julie are the parents of a son and a daughter.
Garney Jewel Sheppard died 9 Jan 1977 and Chester Adam Sheppard died 15 Dec 1980. Both are buried in Calvin, OK.
Harry Day Sheppard, a twin, was born 10 Mar 1901 in Lowry, AR and married Della Mae Crump in Holdenville, OK. Harry was killed 1 Apr 1927 in Seminole, OK and is buried in Wetumka, OK. Della Mae subsequently married Carson William Smith. She died 13 Apr 1975 and is buried in Wetumka, OK. Della Mae and Harry were the parents of a son and two daughters.

Carrie May Sheppard, a twin to Harry, married Jeff T. Stephens, born 8 Apr 1895, in Holdenville, OK on 24 Apr 1920. Two sons and two daughters were born to Jeff and Carrie Stephens.
- Geneva Pauline Stephens who married J. C. Sharp. She died in May 1960 and is buried in Blanchard, Oklahoma.
- Dorothy Stephens who married (1) Kenneth Smith and (2)T. C. Dickinson. Dorothy and Kenneth are the parents of seven children.
- H. Vernon Stephens who married Jean Quigley. They are the parents of a son and daughter. Vernon died 11 Jul 1991 and is buried at Blanchard, Oklahoma.
Carrie divorced Jeff Stephens and married John Copeland who was born 2 May 1900 in Byers, OK. They are the parents of one daughter.
