$30 instead of $400 is cost effective!!!!
So this whole time while being with Samantha My legacy in case ya didn't know) one thing i have wanted to do was buy the RBS JDM Grille this pic up top shows how the factory USDM grille looks. I couldn't stand the damn "Chrome Mustache" that is inside the grille. on one hand i didnt wanna spend $400 on a damn small part like that but i wanted it to look good not "Ricey" or cheesball work. So my dillemma was to buy or not to buy.... this is my solution.
The required materials for filling:
-Bondo auto putty/filler
-Aluminum Screen Repair Mesh (or actual screen)
-Bondo Glazing and Spot putty
-Dremel
-Sandpaper
-Primer
-Paint of your choice
-Grille of your choice i used 0.99c piece of aluminum gutter guard
-metallic black Rustoleum
1) Pop hood and pull out factory grille ( 2 bolts and 2 clips on top of grille easy)
2)Use dremel and cut out the grille center piece
3) using bondo screen mesh and bondo fill in the gaps on the sides, bottom and top
4) I masked off the chrome cause i wanted to keep it most ppl just sand over it and paint to match body color this is what it looked like masked and sanded very very well ready to start painting
5)I wanted my grille to match the stock paint color on the plastic so i painted it too. Amazingly the color that matches is metallic black Rustoleum!!! Go figure!!! Found that at Wal-Mart. But first i put on two coats of Primer
6) Then i used the Metallic Black Rustoleum with 3 coats on both parts
7)Using a local body shop for some Epoxy i rolled the grille to the right shape and angles and and had them attach it also using the same Epoxy they attached the factory front badging cause its naked without it
8)Make sure everything is secure and put her back on BTW if you didnt know when you should un mask the parts you should not be doing this ok? here is the final product.
