Murphy's Hogback on the White Rim Trail is closed now OPEN
This rock was dynamited into tiny bits on January 17, 2005

There was only about 1 foot of the road at this location.
The rock was on the south side of Murphy Hogback about
150 yards below the top. The rock was estimated to be 14'x5'x3'
This rock is now gone
Thanks to the NPS and some dynamite
Shafer Bench constriction
Obstruction on the second switchback from the top.
The larger boulder is approximately 4' x 4' x 8'
Large boulder on the lower switchbacks.
Impassable to larger vehicles
Boulders and debris blocking the road
