A
bit about me...
I'm a kiwi, but have been in Oz for a while.
I am a lecturer at the University of Queensland who teaches groups of American students who come out to Australia for a few months. I teach them about Australian ecology.
This involves fossils, rainforests, and past climate change. I've published nearly 60 scientific papers.
Collecting fossils was a hobby, then it became research.
Photography was a hobby, then it became a business.
Hmm, I'm into women's fashions in pre-Christian Europe (Bronze Age, Migration Period, that sort of thing). And I travel...
I travel a lot. Been to Africa, Antarctica, America, India, Europe, SE Asia ... I haven't been to the Amazon yet.
I usually have a few on the go at any time. At the moment it's 'The Life of Pi' and 'Pity the Nation' (the Lebanese Civil War).
I drink wine. I'm not a beer drinker, though one on a hot day is sometimes OK. Food I'm not a vego, but don't eat a huge amount of meat. I make up muesli for breakfast, and I've made Saturday my chocolate day.
You must be kidding.
Not religious. At least not in the organised Christian/Islamic/whatever sense.
Every second morning I run about 3km. It's nice being up in the pre-dawn with no-one around. A few hills involved. Every other morning I do 55 press-ups and some sit-ups.
