Biographical Essay on the life of Jesse Wentworth Crosby
History and Journal of Jesse Wentworth Crosby

The original copy of this document is in the Archives of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A typescript is available in the manuscripts collection of the Harold B. Lee Library at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. This history was also published in the Annals of Wyoming in 1938 and in Samuel Wallace Crosby's 1977 book, Jesse Wentworth Crosby: Mormon Preacher, Pioneer, Man of God. This copy of Jesse's "History and Journal" is based on a typescript in my possession. This copy was then compared to the typescript in the Lee Library and to the printed version in Annals of Wyoming. Grammar and spelling have been left as they appear in the typescript, unless it was necessary to correct an obvious transcription error. Notes and other limited clarifications are identified in brackets. The annotations were prepared to assist the reader in the identification of people, places, events, and historical usage. All dates have been rendered in bold face.
