Mum's Cold Tea Bread
- commonly called Fruit Loaf
||Cold leftover tea
||Soft brown sugar
||Mixed dried fruit
||Self raising flour
||(or plain flour + 10 ml baking powder)
Soak the sugar and fruit in the cold tea for a few hours, preferably overnight.
Add the egg and mix in the flour. Put into a greased loaf tin and bake
for about 1 hour at 175 o C.
Serve in slices with butter.
Preparation time: 10 minutes + soaking
Total time: 70 minutes
Precision: Quite important
