What is an E-book?

An E-book, or electronic book, is the next generation book. Words, pictures and hyperlinks (like on a website) are transferred electronically to a computer where they can be read onscreen or printed to paper.
Halloween Theatre Effects and Illusions and Halloween Theatre Tips and Tricks are the first E-books of their kind. There are several reasons we chose to write them as an e-books rather than a printed version.
  1. The Quality:
    • All photos and illustrations can be viewed and printed in full color. In most other haunted house books the cost of color printing prevents you from getting the highest quality illustrations.
    • Because it is electronic the book is fully searchable and hyperlinked. You can view thumbnail pictures, bookmarks or search for a particular phrase to find exactly the section you are looking for with ease. Hyperlinks allow you click an object within the book and it will connect you to a website for more information on that subject.
  2. The Delivery:
    • If you pay online there is same day delivery. We know from experience that when you have a deadline, (Halloween) you don't have time to wait 4-6 weeks for the book you ordered. You want the information fast and we felt an e-book was the closest thing to shipping the order at the speed of light.
  3. The Cost:
    • Since the book is electronic the price does not include the cost of paper, ink, and shipping. That is how we can have the best book on the market and still sell it for a lower overall cost than comparative books.

Since E-books are a fairly new technology some people may be a little unsure about how to set things up. For those nervous about stepping into this new territory we offer the following support:

  1. Step by step instructions are available for most common problems and frequently asked questions. (FAQs)
  2. Email support is available from both The Halloween Theatre and Regnow.com.

Q. I can open the book and read the text but there are no pictures.
A. Make sure your Acrobat Reader is version 5.0. Earlier versions of the reader will not be able to view the pictures because of the higher color quality.
