Tales of the Dark

I am a teller of terrible tales,
From the bowels of the earth and the bellies of whales,
Of heroes and villains and creatures of doom,
The terrors of dreams that help darken your room.

Wonderful wizards and powers for good,
In combat with evil and the Dark Power’s brood.
I can return you to earlier years,
When the world was still young and held untold fears.

This was the era of monsters and men,
Of great dragons and witches, the Red Diadem,
Of dwarves, elves and warlocks, of wraiths and of pain,
The battles and glory, the wounded and slain.

Come let us walk in the cold mists of time,
To meet up with heroes in forests sublime.
Shake hands with the Dark One and feel his control,
Escape from his clutches and just save your soul.

Call up the good ones to save us in time,
Feel the power of magic and see the light shine.
Scare off the foul terrors that make the flesh creep,
Relax and be calm and just drift off to sleep.

That is the beauty of fantastic tales,
You don’t have to believe them, or be hard as nails,
Just drift and imagine the stories you’ve heard,
They frighten and satisfy, isn’t it weird?
