Rabbit Care and Links

Is also under construction. Check back for updates!

As I said before, I currently do not have my own little bunny, but have read up on them and think I know a good deal about rabbit care. This page is for those just starting out with a rabbit and for those considering it. I hope you find this information helpful and make sure to visit the links, they are all great! Thanks for stopping by and by sure to head over to my homepage and sign my guestbook!

HOUSING YOUR RABBIT

One of the most important things to have before you bring your bunny home is a good cage. You can opt for a metal or a plastic one, as long as it is big enough. I am planning on getting a Holland Lop, which are small and normally only weigh 2 - 4 pounds, and I got a cage that is about 28" x 17" x 18". If you buy a metal cage, make sure the wiring on the bottom of the cage is not spaced so far apart that the rabbit's foot will fall through. Also, beware of buying cages at pet stores, they can be VERY expensive. I bought mine at Ebay, and saved a bundle.

HANDLING YOUR RABBIT

An important thing to remember is to never pick a rabbit up by the ears. This is extremely painful for the bunny, and it will soon learn to stay away from you. Remind children of this, and always keep a close eye on the child when they are around the rabbit.

*******IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT ANY RABBIT YOU HAVE BE SPAYED/NEUTERED!********
