Explorer has, over the past two seasons, notched up an amazing average catch
ratio of 5.10 sailfish per charter.

Explorer is a
28 foot ( 9.0 mtr.) cougar cat (twin hull) sport-fisherman, with an 11 foot (3.5 mtr.) beam.
Power is from twin 300 hp Caterpillar diesel engines. Cruising speed is 30 mph
(50 kph). Ocean Explorer has a twin berth cabin and a stand-up toilet.

1997/1998 season (October - April) Ocean Explorer caught, tagged and released 240 sailfish, at an average catch ratio of 5.7 sailfish per charter. Two fly fishing charters were taken in 1998, the first catching 3 sailfish and the second catching 4 sailfish. The best days during the season were over the 26, 27 and 28 February when a total of 67 sailfish were catch, tagged and released!

1998/1999 season (October - April) Ocean Explorer caught, tagged and released 330 sailfish, at an average catch ratio of 4.3 sailfish per charter. The best days during the season were on 27 November - 15 sailfish, 14 December - 14 sailfish, and 21 March - 15 sailfish. During the season Ocean Explorer won two fishing tournaments, the Yamaha Challenge, and Sailfish 98, a three day event.

| On
six occasions during the 98/99 season, we have seen Orcas, Humpback whales
and Right whales. Dolphins were seen on almost every trip.
