Elder Staley (That’s me!) served in the Florida, Ft. Lauderdale Mission from October 26, 1994 to November 8, 1996. I served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I served most of the two years in Miami, where I learned Spanish as I talked with Cubans, Nicaraguans, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Peruvians, Chileans, Colombians, etc., etc.

This first picture is of me on Christmas morning of 1994 at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah. I was in there from October 26 to December 28. During Christmas time I had the privilege to sing Christmas songs in the MTC choir. It was so awesome—it Bent the Orange Metal!

This picture shows me at an apartment in Kendall, FL. I was trying on this hat; it’s not my usual attire. I served in a total of seven different areas in and around Miami. I was in twelve different companionships (where I was with one other missionary) and we preached the gospel of Jesus Christ two by two to all who would hear the Word of God.

This photo is of me when I was serving in Westchester, a suburb of Miami. Isn’t that an awesome wall sign?

Ben served a mission for the same church, from December of 1996 to January 6, 1999 in the Maryland Baltimore Mission. He is now in Arizona working. I live a few hours away, so I don’t see him too often. But we do get together now and again, and always have a great time.
