IF JOHNNIE LEASHORE IS IGNORANT OR JUST STUPID?? We were listening to the vile diatribe of the little vermin on HATE RADIO 105.3 last week when Leashore said that MARTIAL LAW WAS NAMED FOR THE GENERAL who put down the veterans march in Washington in the 1930's and who helped rebuild Europe with a plan after World War II, HOW STUPID, and to think that he is spreading such misinformation all over west Alabama, thanks to the 50,000 WATTS OF HATE. We think the General he said MARTIAL LAW was named for was General GEORGE MARSHALL However it was General McArthur who put down the veterans demonstrations in Washington in the 1930's, not General Marshall. It was the Marshall Plan which did rebuild much of Europe after World War II, BUT MARTIAL LAW WAS CERTAINLY NOT NAMED FOR GENERAL MARSHALL! Where does Leashore get such erroneous information and how do the SANDERS AND CHESTNUT FAMILIES WHO OWN Imani Communications, which owns Hate Radio 105.3, let someone like Leashore mislead and misinform people with SUCH STUPIDITY AS SAYING THAT MARTIAL LAW WAS NAMED FOR GENERAL MARSHALL. Education will cure ignorance, but there is no cure for someone stupid like Leashore!!!
WHY NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING AB0UT THE REIGN OF TERROR THAT HOUSING AUTHORITY DIRECTOR LOLA ROGERS HAS INSTITUTED? We say unequivocally that Lola SHOULD BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY from this position. Ever since she was appointed by James Perkins, Jr.,she has:
-discriminated against some employees by not permitting them to go to training sessions while permitting other employees to attend training sessions at public expense.
-used HOUSING AUTHORITY EMPLOYEES AND HOUSING AUTHORITY TIME AND MATERIALS TO WORK ON HER HOUSE. This is a violation of the Ethics Law and if she does not resign, we are filing a complaint against her for using her office for personal gain.
-put in a bank of cameras and microphones monitored from her office so she can intimidate Housing Authority employees.
-Hired the daughter of a local contractor who built her very nice brick mailbox at her house. This is a contractor who does not do small brick jobs.
-Has sent two friends to training session so they could qualify for a job, then went through the charade of advertising the jobs and then hried her friends whom she sent to school first.
-Has given raises to her friends, including $10,000 for one employee and $17,000 a year for another.
-Let $4,000 in gas for personal use be charged on the Housing Authority credit card and did nothing about it.
-Had the contractor who was cutting trees for the Housing Authority cut down a tree at her house free of charge.
We want to know WHY THE HOUSING AUTHORITY BOARD HAS DONE NOTHING and why Ms. Rogers still has a job? We are tired of Rogers harassing, mistreating and discriminating against most Housing Authority Employees and we intend to do something about it!
WHY MAYOR EVANS CONTINUES TO LET HIS POLITICAL ENEMIES run the day to day operations of City Government? Everywhere we go, this is the single biggest complaint that people who support the Mayor have. WE CANNOT BELIEVE that he is going to let Jimmy Nunn run for District Judge and still be the City Attorney. We know that this has never happened before.It is unheard for a city attorney to remain in office while running for a Judgeship. We say again to the Mayor: these people are not your friends. They will not support you when Perkins runs against you in 2012, the day to day operations are still a mess just as they were when Perkins was in office! Code Enforcement in the City is a joke. Community Development is going to cause you more trouble than you ever thought possible by the way they are messing up bids.
WHEN THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL are going to have the "backbone" to do the right thing and close the roads at Bush Hog and either purchase homes of those complaining or build a road for them? It is past time for a decision to be made. This is a "no brainer" to reasonable people. Selma can NOT afford to lose 300 more jobs. How long do they think Bush Hog is going to stay here if these streets aren't closed? We have a 20.1% unemployment rate WHICH EQUALS 3,000 PEOPLE OUT OF WORK plus the ones out of work and who are no longer looking for a job.
