How much longer Mayor Perkins will use the CHURCH for his political purposes? According to our sources, he was at the Little Rock Church for the Emancipation Program on January 1st. Perkins was on the program to extend greetings from the City to the guest speaker from New York. INSTEAD, Perkins took 15 minutes to (1) Urge everyone to vote for the $21 million Bond Issue and (2) defend his choice of the incompetent Jimmy Martin to be Police Chief. Both of these matters were not relevant to the day's Program and PERKINS HAD NOT BEEN ASKED TO SPEAK. For his sake, and that of some pastors in town, we are not so worried about what the IRS will do about the misuse of the Church, but what GOD will do about Perkins' misuse of the Church.
Why Perkins continues to say he selected Martin as Police Chief and keeps him as Chief because he (Perkins) could trust Martin? WHAT IS IT THAT PERKINS TRUSTS MARTIN TO DO OR NOT TO DO? All that comes to mind is that the Mayor trusts Martin not to tell (1) where Perkins went and with whom he went during his first term when Martin was his "bodyguard"? From some of the going ons in the Selma Police Department, we wonder how many "bodies" Martin has been guarding! And (2) where Perkins stays. WE CAN CONFIDENTLY SAY that neither Martin nor Perkins stay in Selma. We have NEVER trusted Martin since he made up the lie about 2 young men trying to "assassinate" him. WHAT A LIAR!
HOW MUCH MONEY IS REALLY MISSING FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT? We are told that it is much more than the $3,300 that Chief Martin told the press! How much longer is Perkins going to put up with Martin's ineptness? When Martin resigned 7 MONTHS AGO, HE SAID IT WAS BECAUSE HIS CHURCH AND FAMILY NEEDED HIM. Apparently this was another lie because Martin is still Chief!
Why the Assistant City Treasurer, also Perkins' FIRST COUSIN, has a large check in her desk from the City to the Selma City Schools? The auditors could not find the check according to the Management Letter. Eventually, it was discovered in HER DESK. And why 3 City checks were found in the Grants Coordinator's possession by the auditors...she is the sister of the Rev. Chestnut, married to the Mayor's first cousin.
Why Daryl "Little Perk/Momma's Boy" Thomas wrote that lie in the STJ about Council President George Evans? Very interesting that Daryl's mother CORRECTED the lie and said something to the effect that Daryl was made to feel inferior; NOONE EVER SAID HE WAS INFERIOR IN ANY WAY. These attacks and lies on President Evans are all coming from the MAYOR'S OFFICE. Daryl's mother, Ozetta Thomas, and Daryl were both on the City Payroll.
Why President Evans was given a seat at a table in the back at a recent Elks dinner while Perkins was seated near the front? We understood why once the coordinator of the event was introduced - the husband of Perkins' lady friend and Executive Assistant, Darlene Rudolph! IS THERE NOTHING the Perkins crowd won't do to embarass, harass, and hurt anyone they perceive as "the enemy"?!
