TAKING LEAVE OF THEIR SENSES…

After the recent meeting of the Selma City Council, we had to ask if some members of the Council have
taken leave of their senses”. We begin with COUNCILWOMAN SUSAN KEITH, a personal friend of ours.
When Dr. Williamson made a motion to resume the work at Confederate Circle ON THE CONDITION that the federal law suit and all claims against the City be dismissed, Susan abstained, WHICH CAUSED THE MOTION TO LOSE ON A 3 TO 3 VOTE. It is clear to us, and we believe Ms. Keith mentioned this on the radio, that the city did deprive the contractor of his constitutional right of due process by suspending his city issued permit without a hearing.
Dr. Williamson pointed out that the city is financially exposed in federal court in that the state immunity limit of $100,000 does not apply in federal court and that if the city does not win the lawsuit, the city will have to pay the contractors attorneys, which could be well over $100,000.00 if this matter goes to trial. This is an expense that the city’s insurance will not pay. IT IS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE TAXPAYERS OF SELMA THAT THIS SUIT NOT GO TO TRIAL.
We have no idea why Ms. Keith abstained, but will ask her when we see her. We do not think voters in Ward 2 elected her to abstained from voting! Had she voted for the motion, it would have past and perhaps the city would have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars. Did she take leave of her senses by abstaining?
Next, we wonder if COUNCIL PRESIDENT COREY BOWIE has taken leave of his senses by continuing to vote AGAINST every effort to settle the controversy surrounding the Confederate Circle. We want to suggest that Mr. Bowie take a look at the election results from last year and see who elected him Council President and who TRIED TO DEFEAT HIM. It was Rose Sanders, Franklin Fortier and HATE RADIO 105. 3 who worked tirelessly to DEFEAT Mr. Bowie and to elect his opponent; yet, in regard to the Confederate Circle he continues to do what Rose wants him to do.
We would like to refresh Mr. Bowie’s memory with the results of the initial election when he ran against 3 other opponents. THERE ARE THREE PREDOMINATELY WHITE BOXES LEFT IN SELMA. In those 3 boxes, Mr. Bowie received a total of 1109 votes. Combined his 3 opponents received only 487 votes in those boxes. In the run-off, Mr. Bowie received over 80% of the votes in these three boxes and was elected because of those votes. He actually lost in the remainder of the boxes in the city. He is in office today precisely for the same reason that Mayor Evans is-the voters in Ward 1 and at Cahaba Road in Ward 2.
YET he as well as council members Benjamin, Crenshaw, Randolph and Johnson ARE CONSTANTLY PRAISED BY ROSE SANDERS AND HATE RADIO FOR OPPOSING DR. WILLIAMSON’S efforts to settle the controversy caused by a hateful and mean spirited Rosie.
What Mr. Bowie does not understand is that most whites in Selma really do not care about the Forrest monument one way or another. When Rose raised all manner of hell in 2001 and hoodwinked Mayor Perkins into moving it to Confederate Circle (now she wants it moved from there), there was some resentment in the white community BUT IT DIED DOWN WITHIN THREE MONTHS AND FOR TEN YEARS NO ONE REALLY KNEW OR CARED THAT THE FORREST MONUMENT WAS IN THE CEMETERY. If Bowie and the council would settle this matter, within three months this whole controversy would be forgotten, but the longer he lets it drag on, the worst it is going to be for him politically. We think we have a pulse on the white community in Selma and while we believe most don’t care about the Forrest monument, they darn sure care that ROSE SANDERS HAS CAUSED YET ANOTHER PROBLEM, THAT SHE HAS GIVEN SELMA ANOTHER BLACK EYE AND THAT SHE IS ON HATE RADIO DAILY PRAISING BOWIE, BENJAMIN AND OTHERS. And we are telling Mr. Bowie, whom we wholeheartedly supported in the last election, that he will do well to remember that one reason James Perkins is not Mayor of Selma today is because of Nathan Bedford Forrest! Has Mr. Bowie taken leave of his senses in regard to this mess he, Benjamin, Crenshaw and Tommie Atchison caused by suspending a contractor’s permit without due process?
We would next ask if ROSE SANDERS has taken leave of her senses, but that would be attributing something to her which she obviously does not possess? Her cause du jure is getting bonds decreased for criminals. Does she have any idea how many of the crimes in Selma are committed by people who out on bond or on probation? Every day Selma’s own Don Quixote is fighting a different windmill from bond reduction to the ghosts of Klu Klux Klansman who do not exist in Selma to the damndest rip-off in American history known as the Black Farmers law suit, FROM WHICH THE SANDERS WILL REAP MILLIONS MORE OF TAXPAYERS DOLLARS.
We want to refresh everyone’s memory of how ROSE AND HANK SANDERS HAVE ACCUMULATED
MILLIONS OF DOLLARS FROM THE TAXPAYERS AND BECOME PERHAPS THE RICHEST PEOPLE IN THE BLACK BELT, AFTER STARTING OUT WITH ONE RUN DOWN HOUSE ON UNION STREET. In one five years period from 1993-1998, FROM THE TAXPAYERS OF ALABAM THROUGH THE EDUCATION TRUST FUND (WHICH IS SUPPOSE TO FUND PUBLIC EDUCATION) Rose and her corporations received the following sums of money:
BLACK BELT HUMAN RESORUCES CORPORATION, incorporated by Rose Sanders : $235,000
NATIONAL VOTING RIGHTSD MUSEUM, incorporated by Rose Sanders : $450,000
21st CENTURY YOUTH LEADERSHIP, incorporated by Rose Sanders : $720,000
McRae Learning Center, incorporated by Rose Sanders, : $ 70,000
Bridge Crossing Jubilee of Voting Rights Museum, incorporated by Rose Sanders : $ 25,000
By the end of 1997, Hank and Rose and their corporations had bought property in Selma alone
appraised at OVER TWO MILLION DOLLARS.
Since he began serving in the Alabama State Senate in the 1980‘s, Hank Sanders has taken MORE THAN $10 Million dollars FROM THE Education Trust Fund and had it given to his wife’s corporations and organizations.
It is really not Hank and Rose who have taken leave of their senses because they have bilked the taxpayers out of millions of dollars and become rich in the process. We ask IF THE PEOPLE OF SELMA HAVE TAKEN LEAVE OF OUR SENSES when we listen to this hate filled racist WHO HAS KEPT THIS CITY FROM PROGRESSING FOR MORE THAN 30 YEARS. How have the good people in Selma, black and white, let this one evil hate filled woman caused this city to decline, regress and constantly be in turmoil she creates?
We urge everyone to use common sense. You know who causes the problems in Selma. Don’t listen to or be misled by HATE RADIO and the self-serving promoters of hate and strife like the Sanders and Fortiers!
