We have received the following email from Collins Pettaway, III, son of Water Board Attorney Collins Pettaway, JR. and Synethia Pettaway (C.C. Baby Sister) Perkins Pettaway, sister to Mayor Perkins.

I am very concerned also about the situations that occur in our city, but nevertheless I love my city, I respect our City Council, and do nothing more than pray for the positive in our city and the negative like you. With all due respect, I am active in the Selma Political System and I can say that the information you present in your site are NOT true. I ask that you check your sources. May I remind you that Falsifying Legal Information and Mudraking as it used to be referred can be VIEWED as an offence of Local Government Treason. There is such thing as Freedom of Speech, but there is also such a thing called Smear Campaigning. What you have presented in your articles about Mayor Perkins, his family, the council's family, and the council themselves can be proved as horrific lies. I will not take legal actions. I will do what I have I always been doing and that is pray, because only GOD can show you the error and consequences of your ways. Please think about what I have told you and be blessed!!
A Concerned Citzen
We respond to Mayor Perkins' nephew as follows:
1. Please ask your dad if there is in the U.S. Constitution or law ANYTHING about treason against a city.
2. Please ask your dad if a private citizen can bring treason charges against other citizens.
3. Please ask your dad if this website has a great deal of protection under the 1st amendment to the Constitution.
We also see that you have voted absentee FOR the February 26th Bond Issue and indicated you will be out of town and unable to vote in person that day. We do not want to see you in Selma on February 26th. If you are here, you could be guilty of fraud and perjury by voting absentee. We will be watching to see if you are here on February 26th.
