MAYOR PERKINS "PET" (CITY CLERK LOIS WILLIAMS) TO RECEIVE $10,500 RAISE?

ALL RESIDENTS OF OUR WARD (Ward 3) AND OTHER CONCERNED TAXPAYERS ARE URGED TO CALL MRS. JEAN MARTIN AND ASK HER TO CAST THE DECIDING VOTE AGAINST THIS OUTRAGEOUS PAY RAISE.
Once again Councilwoman Jean Martin will cast the deciding vote on an important issue: whether or not the salary of City Clerk Lois Williams should be raised from $42,000 to $52,500 a year. Obviously the Crenshaw block (Leashore, Randolph, Venter, and Crenshaw) will vote for ANYTHING the Mayor proposes. We are counting on Cain, Williamson, Allen, and Evans to oppose this unwarranted rip off of the taxpayers; which leaves Mrs. Martin as the deciding vote. SHE IS OUR COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE AND WE WILL BE CALLING HER. We urge all of you to do likewise: 874-9482.
In any place, there is always a "pet". At school we called the favored person the "teacher's pet". At City Hall, the Mayor's pet is City Clerk Lois Williams. She is permitted to
-to run her private business on City time
-study and attend school on City time
-take more free trips than anyone in City Hall other than the Mayor
-already have her salary increased in 2 1/2 years by more than 25%
Additionally, our source in the City Finance Department tells us the Mayor is also recommending a $6,478 raise for Lynecia Steele who works in the City Clerks office. We don't see how things could get much better for Lois and Lynecia.
Meanwhile, we are told that people who did not even get a raise when the Mayor put his pay plan into effect, are being recommended for meager increases of $1,070, $949, $1038, and $1,010 a year. IT SURE MAKES A DIFFERENCE WHETHER YOU ARE THE MAYOR'S "PET" OR NOT WHEN IT COMES TO DOLING OUT RAISES!
Never have so many been so overpaid and unqualified as all of the Department Heads in the Perkins City Hall. We hope the next Mayor will clean house of them.
