LICENSES FOR VOTES
8-22-06

A source in city government has informed this website that the mayor and Crenshaw block (Randolph, Ventor, Leashore, Martin) will not stop until a liquor license is granted to a new business on Broad St. It makes no difference to them if laws are bent or broken. This business will get a license!

It was told to this website that Agent Tidwell was quietly tranferred to Montgomery by political pressure and that another agent was requested. Agent Tidwell was the ABC official who took exception to the bars being tipped off that they were to be raided by a team from ABC. ( Alcohol Beverage Control ) The clubs were closed on the first day of the month, a Friday, when the team arrived. Why would both bars be closed on the most prosperous night of the month? Coincidence? This website and the odds say that it wasn't a coincidence at all.

Agent Tidwell was also knowledgeable enough to understand that the measurement of legality to sell alcohol around locations such as churches and schools is from boundary line to boundary line. The measurement by the new agent started from the back door of the proposed restaurant/lounge, turn right, follow First Baptist Church boundary line, turn left at Dallas Avenue and go to the front door of the church. If this hadn't proven to be far enough for the city leaders to break the law, this website feels he might have been directed to turn left and go around the block. This business is going to sell alcohol!

This is clearly a situation that shows the city's so-called Christian leaders have no respect for the law or the sanctity of First Baptist Church, a church respected greatly by the Christians in this city.

The issuance of liquor licenses have increased as quickly as the population has decreased. Instead of a "chicken in every pot" the mayor and "his" council are trying, and succeeding, to put "alcohol on every corner."

The mayor always says "To God Be The Glory" and "We Are Blessed". No matter how he feels about these statements, this website feels it is sanctamonious and pious when these statements are made concerning the breaking of a law and/or encouraging alcohol sales. Alcoholism is rampant in this city yet these "leaders" insist on pushing added sales of alcohol.

LICENSES FOR VOTES MUST STOP.

JUST ANOTHER WAY CITY DOLLARS ARE FINANCING THE MAYOR'S CAMPAIGN AND DEGRADING THE CITY!
